Lens bid reaches Nadir

PortsmouthBorussia Dortmund could beat Portsmouth to the signing of Lens defender Nadir Belhadj because they are keen on a permanent transfer.

Reports in France today claim the Ligue 1 club would prefer to sell the Algerian international full-back rather than loan him out for a season, which is Pompey's preferred option.

Harry Redknapp has identified Belhadj as the left-footed option he needs to fill in alongside Sylvain Distin, Sol Campbell and Glen Johnson and provide competition to the left-backs already at the club.
