Midfielder Sean Davis expects to see the season out with Portsmouth but accepts he is fighting a battle for a new contract.
The 29-year-old fired a timely reminder of his talents with the winning goal against Blackburn on Sunday but admits his Fratton Park future is in the balance.
The former Spurs and Fulham man told the News: "I've always been a fighter. Now I'm fighting for my career. That's definitely how I see it. I'm out of contract in the summer so I'm just trying to work hard and see what happens.
"The club have yet to approach me about a new contract and if that doesn't happen I'll just wait until the end of the season and see what happens."
Davis added: "I'm not thinking about talking to any other clubs from January. At the end of the day I'm a Portsmouth player, I've always wanted to be a Portsmouth player. Hopefully, maybe, I'll get a new deal at Portsmouth - but you have to speak to the owner about that or the manager.
"I haven't really asked anyone about it, I just get my head down and work hard and hopefully it will all turn out good for me."
