Portsmouth are set to replace Peter Crouch by snapping up Hajduk Split striker Nikola Kalinic for £6million.

Pompey boss Paul Hart is keen to draft in a quick replacement for Crouch who has joined Tottenham and a deal is in place with the Croatian side for the striker.

The Croatian now just needs to agree terms and pass a medical but the player is confident a deal will be pushed through.

"My dream has come true. It is not yet finalised but, God willing, everything will be okay," he revealed. "Portsmouth is a big club and the Premier League is the best in the world.

"Playing in Portsmouth would be a great challenge for me, an opportunity to prove myself and justify the faith shown in me, particularly by people like Paul Hart."
