Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus has signed a new one-year deal in a player/ambassadorial capacity to clock up 10 seasons.

The 35-year-old will act as a mentor to Pompey's up-and-coming players whilst also pushing for a first-team place.

Primus told the club's website: "I'll be spending a lot of time with them - although I'll still be with the first team.

"And at the same time I'm also going to be helping different departments at the club, like player liaison, media and community."

Primus joined Pompey from Reading in 2000 on a free transfer.
