Bristol City have beaten off other Football League clubs to sign Portsmouth reserve team left-back Andre Blackman on a free transfer.

The 18-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Ashton Gate after being released by the Premier League club.

Blackman spent time at Arsenal and Spurs before moving to Fratton Park two years ago, but failed to break into the first team.

The left-back had offers from other clubs but chose to sign for Gary Johnson's Robins.
