Shock Pompey exit denial

PortsmouthPortsmouth have poured cold water on speculation boss Harry Redknapp was being lined up for a lucrative move to CSKA Moscow.

A report claimed CSKA wanted to install the former West Ham chief at the end of the Russian season later in the year when incumbent Valeri Gazzaev leaves the club.

However, Pompey insist the 61-year-old is going nowhere as Redknapp prepares to lead the Fratton Park outfit in European competition for the first time.

"Harry Redknapp is very happy at Portsmouth," a club spokesman told the News.

"An approach from any other club would be unwelcome. Harry signed a new contract at the end of last year and is looking forward to leading us into Europe."
