Portsmouth's Hassan Yebda has admitted Tuesday's crucial game against Sunderland "might be their last chance" to avoid relegation.

Pompey are adrift at the bottom of the table following Saturday's 5-0 defeat at Manchester United and currently sit seven points from safety.

They host Sunderland on Tuesday in what Yebda admits could be a make-or-break showdown as they battle to avoid the drop against all odds.

"If we win against Sunderland it will be very important for us," Yebda told the club's official website.

"We have to give everything on Tuesday because maybe it's the last chance for us. We have to know that and go onto the pitch with a good mentality.

"Maybe the pressure will be good for us. We have to demonstrate what we can do."

Yebda insisted Pompey held their own for most of the first half at Old Trafford but capitulated after going behind.

"We were in the game for the first 40 minutes, but after we conceded the first goal, it was very difficult for us," he added.

"But now we have to concentrate on the next game against Sunderland at home. We'll do everything to win that game.

"We were disappointed in the dressing-room afterwards. We have to train hard and make up for it against Sunderland."
