Yeovil's npower League One clash with Preston at Huish Park has been postponed due to safety concerns.

The Glovers described how lengthy deliberations with the club's Safety Advisory Group took place and, with heavy snow all around the 26-acre site, safety had to be the main consideration.

Manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website: "I am bitterly disappointed that the game has had to be postponed."

The Preston team waited at Deepdale for the latest news and had not departed for Somerset when the match was postponed.

A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.
