Preston defender David Gray is expected to be fit to face Yeovil in npower League One despite suffering from a head injury.

A painful head clash at Notts County left Gray with a cut above the eye, but he has been passed fit for the trip to Huish Park.

Forward duo Iain Hume (hamstring) and Neil Mellor (knee) are progressing well in their rehabilitation but remain on the sidelines, meaning Jamie Proctor and Chris Holroyd are set to continue in attack.

Fellow striker Harry Bunn was on target in the reserve win over Tranmere in midweek and the Manchester City loanee will hope to claim a place in the matchday squad under Graham Westley for the first time.

Westley recalled Adam Barton against Notts County after illness ruled the 20-year-old midfielder out of last weekend's home defeat to Leyton Orient, with the North End chief impressed with what he saw.

"Barton came in and showed what he is all about," Westley told the Lancashire Evening Post. "For a young lad, he's not the most expressive person but I think we can grow him into a very good player and there is a lot to work with."
