Darren Ferguson is trying to take Blackburn winger Kevin Treacy to Preston before Monday's transfer deadline.

The North End chief is hoping to bolster his options at Deepdale with the 22-year-old wide man as he aims to build a youthful squad. And, following the loan signing of Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck last week, Ferguson is focused on wrapping up a deal for Treacy.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international spent the first four months of the season on loan at Preston's Coca-Cola Championship rivals Sheffield United. However as he has failed to make an appearance for Blackburn over the past two months, Rovers boss Sam Allardyce set to sanction another loan move.
