QPR's controversial midfielder Joey Barton has claimed he would like to stay at Marseille for the remainder of his career.
Barton is on a season-long loan deal at the Stade Velodrome after he was handed a 12-match ban in England following his antics at Manchester City at the end of last season.
Barton's loan ends at the end of the season but he has now told French radio station RMC that he is settled and would like to remain with the club for the rest of his career, if a deal can be done it is unlikely that QPR boss Mark Hughes would stand in his way.
Barton said: "I don't know if I will stay beyond my loan. It's not my decision. It is between Queens Park Rangers and Marseille."
"If I had my choice, I would stay here for the rest of my career.
"I love this place - I have a great relationship with the people, the staff, the manager, the players, the fans. I feel like I'm at home.
"I haven't played many games. I can't wait to put the Marseille shirt on, to show people that I like to play football."
