QPR midfielder Esteban Granero believes the club's Barclays Premier League survival will be determined by their next five league games.

Rangers are currently marooned at the foot of the Premier League table and, following Saturday's 2-0 defeat to league-leaders Manchester United, they are now seven points from safety with 12 games remaining.

The London derby with Fulham on April 1 is the only fixture in QPR's next five games that sees them face a team currently higher than 15th in the table and Granero acknowledges the importance of beating the teams in and around them.

"After these games we will know if we have a chance to stay up or not," he told Standard Sport.

"We still have confidence but these five games are very important. We are playing against the teams who are fighting with us. We need the points."
