Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes will give playmaker Adel Taarabt a late fitness test to see if he can play against Liverpool.

The Moroccan midfielder, in and out of the side all season, missed the defeat to Bolton, which plunged the R's into the bottom three, with hamstring injury but he may be fit to play after ten days rest.

Hughes is still likely to be without front men DJ Campbell and Heidar Helguson, the pair have been out for weeks but have returned to training, although the clash is thought to be a little too early for either to return.

A draw for Hughes' men would be enough to take them out of the bottom three on goal difference but a win is what is really needed as the side have only triumphed once since the arrival of Hughes as manager.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is again likely to have to do without defender Glen Johnson and striker Craig Bellamy for the trip to Loftus Road.

England right-back Johnson has not featured since the Carling Cup final victory over Cardiff last month due to a calf injury and Welsh striker Bellamy has missed the last two games

Centre-back Daniel Agger is still recovering from a broken rib so Jamie Carragher will partner Martin Skrtel at the back.
