QPR look set to confirm John Gorman as assistant manager on Monday as he links up with Jim Magilton for a second time.
Gorman worked under the recently appointed Rangers boss at Ipswich but the pair were both shown the door at Portman Road in April after failing to take Town into the Championship play-offs.
Gorman, who was once assitant to Glenn Hoddle with England, has already made initial contact with Rangers ahead of a formal meeting.
"I have not signed a contract yet, but have a meeting at the club on Monday," Gorman told the EADT.
"It is a famous club that I have always rated and Loftus Road is a wonderful stadium for football.
"Whether we can finish above Ipswich is something we shall have to wait and see, but I wish Ipswich well.
"They are a lovely club with lovely fans, but now it is time for me to move on."
