Rangers given Watson boost

QPRQPR appear to be closing in on the capture of Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson after he turned down a move to Nottingham Forest.

Foster has been transfer listed by Palace after he rejected a new contract and the 23-year-old is believed to be holding out for a move to Loftus Road.

The Eagles accepted Forest's a bid for Watson but Palace boss Neil Warnock revealed the midfielder turned down Forest because he wants to join Rangers but a deal is still some way off being concluded with the transfer window closing at midnight.

"Ben's turned Forest down," Warnock told the South London Press. It's not necessarily the case that he'll be leaving before the transfer deadline.

"Ben and his agent have made it clear that he wants to go to QPR, so I don't know where that leaves us."
