Redknapp: Taarabt must knuckle down

Harry Redknapp has warned Adel Taarabt to "knuckle down" if he is to be a success at AC Milan.

QPR misfit Taarabt completed a shock loan switch to the Italian giants on transfer deadline day after a disappointing first half of the season on loan at Fulham.

Loftus Road boss Redknapp decided the mercurial midfielder was surplus to requirements at the start of the campaign, having previously lost patience with him at Tottenham and sold him to QPR.

Taarabt dubbed himself 'the Moroccan Mario Balotelli' when he was unveiled at Milan but Redknapp said: "I don't know about that.

"I hope he does well there, good luck to him. He went to Fulham but it didn't work out, he couldn't get a game.

"It's an amazing game, isn't it? You can't get a game at Fulham at the bottom of the Premier League and then you go to AC Milan! Years ago to get to AC Milan you had to be a world-class superstar.

"So it's a great move for him and I hope he knuckles down and does well. He's got the talent, it's just himself."
