Assistant boss John Gorman has described QPR's Carling Cup first round draw at Exeter as 'a tricky tie'.
Gorman was named boss Jim Magilton's number two on Monday and one of his first games on the R's backroom staff will see him go up against former Tottenham team-mate Steve Perryman, who is chairman of the newly-promoted League One outfit.
Ahead of the tie on the south coast on the week commencing August 10, Gorman said: "It's a tricky tie but one we are more than capable of winning.
"We'll need to be totally committed and professional to get the job done, and we'll be drumming that into the players from day one of pre-season training.
"Steve is a close friend of mine, so it's a nice draw in that respect.
"It's been a while since I've been to St James Park, but it's a difficult place to go at any time."
