QPR say they hope to have long-term injury victims Akos Buzsaky and Martin Rowlands fully fit for the start of the new season.

The R's stars suffered similar anterior cruciate ligament injuries last season but the pair are on course to return for pre-season, ahead of the opening game of the campaign against Blackpool on August 8.

Speaking about Buzsaky, physio Paul Hunter told the club's website: "He's been in there every day of the summer, and he's pretty much ready to join in with the lads next week.

"We're obviously mindful that we're not going to push him in too hard. We've got all of pre-season to fine tune him."

Rowlands is a bit further behind in his rehabilitation, but the skipper is also making good progress.

Hunter added: "Martin's working hard and he's going to be joining in some sessions, not all of pre-season but again we're aiming to use pre-season as the final part of his rehab."
