QPR striker Bobby Zamora may need surgery on his hip problem which could keep him out for the remainder of the season.
It is the last thing that boss Mark Hughes needs to hear as he fights to keep his post at Loftus Road but the striker missed the defeat to Southampton with the hip problem last Saturday and is now set for more tests on the problem.
Rangers' medical team are said to be monitoring the injury but initial fears are that the ex-England striker will need an operation to cure the problem and if that is the case then he could be out until February or, according to some reports, for the rest of the campaign.
The Hoops are keeping their fingers crossed that the injury will not require surgery and rest will cure the problem but that may turn out to be a forlorn hope.
