Madjid Bougherra says he was persuaded to join Rangers by Algeria international Brahim Hemdani after completing his £2.5m switch.The versatile star spent 18 months at the Valley but is now looking forward to his new challenge, after penning a four-year deal with the Gers.
"I spoke to Brahim about coming here and he spoke very well about the club, the facilities and the fans," Bougherra told the Glasgow club's official website.
"He pushed me to come here, so I am very pleased I have signed for Rangers. They are a very big club and I want to get into the team quickly."
