Chilean teenage striker Eduardo Vargas has revealed that he would relish the chance to test his abilities in Scotland with Rangers.

The 19-year-old has attracted interest from a myriad of clubs in Britain and Europe after he was named player of the competition at the recent Toulon Tournament.

However with the Gers able to offer Champions League football, they would almost certainly head the queue of clubs looking to snap him up this summer.

The £1.5million-rated Vargas told the Daily Record: "I really want to play in the UK because that could help me become the player I want to be.

"I have seen the British game and admire the physical aspect of it."

He added: "I am relishing the challenge of going to Scotland and becoming the first Chilean to make the grade.

"Some people say South Americans can't play in Scotland and England but that's rubbish.

"Now I just want the chance to come to Scotland and show how good I am."
