Gers face anxious Thomson wait

RangersRangers midfielder Kevin Thomson is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury against St Mirren.

The midfielder suffered the injury during Sunday's shock 1-0 defeat and although Rangers do not know the full extent of the injury, the early diagnosis is not a good one.

Thomson is also a huge doubt for Scotland's crucial World Cup qualifier against Norway this weekend.

A Rangers statement confirmed: "The early diagnosis...is that Thomson is a huge doubt for the Scotland game. They are hoping that there is no major damage but the injury does look as though it could sideline Thomson for some time."
