Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson has rejected interest from Rangers to sign a new deal at Fratton Park.
The veteran has become a cult figure at Pompey but there was plenty of interest from elsewhere in the Icelandic international, with Middlesbrough keen to land him and both Glasgow giants, Rangers and Celtic, also interested.
Hreidarsson, though, has decided to stay on the south coast, as he told the News: "Me signing with Portsmouth again was always going to happen even though I had many other options.
"Me and my family feel great in this place, we have been there for two fun years and I think I have plenty more in me to play in the Premier League and that had a lot to say in this decision."
