Midfielder Aaron Niguez says he is happy in Glasgow after confirming he would be coming back for a second spell with Rangers.

The 20-year-old moved to Ibrox from Valencia on a two-year loan in the summer of 2008 but failed to make much of an impression during his first season.

Reports suggested that the Spain Under-21 star was set to return to his parent club a year early and miss out on a second season in the SPL.

However the player has rejected the chance of rejoining Valencia and wants to prove to the 'Gers fans that he is worthy of a place in the squad.

"Valencia wanted me to go back to play for them this season but I was keen to come back to Rangers," he said.

"I am due to spend one more year at the club and I want to stay there. I think it is a good place for me to be and I want to help the team to do well.

"I am hopeful I can play more football than I did in my first season in Scotland because I have got used to the game there now and I feel I have improved.

"I was very happy in Glasgow and I'm looking forward to going back there and trying to win more trophies for the club."
