Reading will be without Jimmy Kebe for Saturday's clash against Liverpool, while Hope Akpan is also a major doubt.
The Royals entertain the Merseysiders knowing they need to pick up a win if they are to have any chance of pulling of the great escape, but they will have to do it without Kebe, who has a groin problem.
Meanwhile, Akpan is also a doubt after he picked up an ankle injury during last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Southampton.
Boss Nigel Adkins says Reading have further niggles within the squad, one of them being goalkeeper Adam Federici, but no other players are expected to be ruled out.
"Jimmy is close but it's fair to say he's not going to be ready," said Adkins. "Hope came off last weekend and it's very unlikely he'll be fit. Obviously Feds was out for a while with an ankle injury and he just rocked it towards the end of the game, you could see that, so we've got one or two little niggles, which every club has at this moment in time."
