Reading will be without midfielder Jem Karacan for their npower Championship clash with Brighton.

Karacan was the victim of two hefty challenges during the 2-0 victory over Leeds on Good Friday and hobbled out of that match before half-time.

The Turk has since undergone an X-ray which has revealed a broken ankle, meaning Karacan will be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

Striker Benik Afobe missed the clash with the Whites with a minor knock but could return to contention, although midfielder Jay Tabb is set to miss out with a rib injury.

Adam Le Fondre will be hoping for a recall to the starting XI after coming off the bench to notch both goals in the success against Leeds, but he will be pushed to oust either Noel Hunt or Jason Roberts up top.

Joseph Mills is working his way back to full fitness following a quad problem and will not play a part, while right-back Matthew Connolly continues to miss out with his ankle injury.
