Stephen Kelly is delighted to have linked up with Reading and says it is the best decision he has made in his football career.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the Royals during the January transfer window after cutting all ties with Fulham and says he has no regrets regarding the move.

Far from it, the 29-year-old says it is the best decision he has made in football, which is some statement from someone who has played at Tottenham, Stoke and Birmingham.

Kelly is now hoping to help Reading beat the drop but says no matter what happens, it is a great move.

"You consider every move carefully, it's a big decision and it can be like your first day at school all over again," Kelly said. "But I was speaking to my wife the other day and we couldn't believe how easy the transition has been.

"It's been seamless, regardless of what happens now and for the rest of the season, coming here is the best decision I've made in football."
