Reading have rewarded Brynjar Gunnarsson with a new one-year contract at the club which he was delighted to sign.

The 33-year-old becomes one of the most experienced players at the club, and he is delighted to be staying, but says the deal was an easy one to sign.

Gunnarsson told the Evening Post: "There was never any doubt, I always wanted to stay and the club wanted me so it was fairly easy to get everything done.

"It is a time when there are a lot of changes and some players were not offered contracts so I was very pleased the club wanted to keep me."
