Roberts out of Blades test

A hip complaint is set to keep Jason Roberts out of action again for Reading as they face Sheffield United in the FA Cup fourth round.

Midfielder Jem Karacan suffered an unspecified knock in training but should be fit for Saturday's game, while goalkeeper Alex McCarthy (shoulder) and midfielder Hope Akpan (cup-tied) are unavailable.

Royals boss Brian McDermott may hand a start to triker Adam Le Fondre after scoring two vital goals from the bench in his side's 2-1 Barclays Premier League win over Newcastle last weekend.
