Royals consider starlet deal

Reading are considering a loan move for starlet Dominic Samuel with Dagenham & Redbridge keen to take the youngster.

Boss Brian McDermott rates the 18-year-old attacker very highly and although he has no intention of selling the player, he feels another loan move will do him the world of good.

Samuel has already spent one spell on loan at Colchester but he only made two appearances before returning to the Madejski Stadium and McDermott is keen to send him out again.

The England Under-19 international made his first-team debut for the Royals against Sunderland earlier this season but he is not ready for a relegation battle and a loan move would be best for all involved.

Meanwhile, Reading winger Jordan Obita has extended his loan spell with Oldham for a second month and will stay at Boundary Park until at least April 1.
