Royals unveil training ground plans

Last Updated: Wed, 16 Oct 2013 14:56

Reading have announced plans to build a new training complex at nearby Wokingham.

The Royals have exchanged contracts with the Royal Merchant Navy School Foundation for the purchase of 120 acres of land.

The site, at Bearwood Estate, will hold up to 15 pitches and indoor facilities at what will be the new headquarters for their senior and Academy teams.

The next step is to submit a planning request to Wokingham Borough Council in the near future.

Reading have been at their current Hogwood Park base since 2004.
