Pavel Pogrebnyak says Andrey Arshavin would be a great signing for Reading and has urged his Russian team-mate to join the Royals.
Reading's Russian owner has targeted as many as 10 new players for when the transfer window opens and the Arsenal midfielder is known to be on his wanted list.
Arshavin has slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger would be happy to let him leave so he can get his salary off the wage bill.
However the final decision over whether a move to Reading will happen rests with the player and Pogrebnyak is urging his fellow countryman to join him at the Madejski Stadium.
"It's Arshavin who has to make the decision," the striker revealed. "Anton Zingarevich knows him well enough without listening to my opinion, as he is from St Petersburg.
"Andrey is a master and there is no doubt that it would be great to see him at Reading."
