Rochdale assistant boss Chris Beech believes there is a lot more to come from the players after their weekend win at Morecambe.

Dale have won eight of their last 11 league games, but only five points separate the top 12 teams in Sky Bet League Two and Beech said there was still room for improvement.

"The lads were tremendous," he said after his side had secured their third away win on the road this season.

"We came with a game-plan and they stuck to it. It's vital to win what would be classed as a derby match.

"Morecambe were right on our tails (in the table) and they still are, but we've just put a bit of light between us.

"We're pleased with the way the players are going and we're pleased with where we're trying to take them because we believe there's still a lot more to come.

"We don't believe we're near the finished article."
