Arnason keen to Kari on - Evans

Rotherham boss Steve Evans has confirmed Kari Arnason wants to stay at the club.

The defender, who has been away on international duty with Iceland, is out of contract at the New York Stadium after winning two promotions in two seasons with the Millers.

He has been offered a new deal and boss Evans expects him to sign.

"Late on Friday Kari Arnason indicated he would like to stay at Rotherham United so obviously I am delighted," Evans told the club's official website.

"The big man has been excellent for me for two consecutive seasons, helping us to promotion in both and he has played a key part in that achievement."

Evans also expects defender Mark Bradley to put pen to paper on a new deal while talks are still ongoing with striker Wes Thomas.

However, David Worrall is set to leave the club in the next few days after the Millers received interest in the winger.

Worrall, who was signed for a fee last summer, spent the second half of the season on loan at Oldham and was transfer-listed last week.

"David Worrall is the only other player who will leave and there is a lot of interest in him so we will see where that goes too," added Evans, who rubbished rumours linking the club with a move for Crawley defender Mat Sadler.
