Rotherham winger Gareth Evans has left the club by mutual consent.

The 24-year-old former Bradford man has been released from his contract and is now a free agent.

Evans joined the Millers in 2011 and made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals, but has found first-team opportunities limited in recent months.

Manager Steve Evans said: "Gareth is a real good professional and deserves to be playing football but given the strength of our current squad, added to what we'll do in January it was best for all if he was allowed progress his career somewhere else."
