Rotherham boss Steve Evans believes midfielder David Noble is ready to deliver his best.

The 31-year-old has been beset by injuries and personal problems since he arrived at the New York Stadium in the summer but has recently returned to the side and has scored in the last two outings following a three-month absence.

He limped out of Saturday's 3-1 win over Northampton, but Evans does not expect the injury to be serious and is delighted to have his man back in the fray.

"David Noble is a top, top player, I have said it many times," the Millers boss told Press Association Sport.

"He was a big signing for me in the summer, David has come through a couple of bad injuries and a personal situation, but he is back fit and desperate to play.

"We were able to play him in three or four training ground games in recent weeks and we have put him on a mini-pre-season with (coach) Paul Warne to get his fitness up. His match fitness is a different type - passing and touch never leaves you.

"He will play a big part in our promotion push."
