Back rower Nathan Hindmarsh has been called up by Australia for their crucial Four Nations showdown against England in Wigan.

Australia coach Tim Sheens has brought in the 30-year-old for his side's must-win game, while prop David Shillington, hooker Robbie Farah and second rower Luke Lewis are all expected to make their debuts in the DW Stadium clash on Saturday.

Forwards Ryan Hoffman and Sam Thaiday are being tipped to lose out as Sheens opts to ring the changes following his country's 20-20 draw with New Zealand last weekend.

Australia: Slater; B Morris, Inglis, Hodges, Hayne; Lockyer (capt), Thurston; Civoniceva, Smith, Hannant, Watmough, Gallen, Hindmarsh. Replacements (from): Farah, White, Lewis, Shillington, Waterhouse, Gidley.
