Crusaders have snapped up two Australians as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of Super League XV next year.

Nick Youngquest has moved to Wales from Gateshead Thunder while Wakefield Trinity Wildcats second-row Frank Winterstein has also joined Super League's bottom club in 2009.

Youngquest, 26, has played for a number of clubs including Cronulla Sharks, St George Illawarra Dragons, Penrith Panthers and Bulldogs but he spent the summer of 2009 in the north east with Gateshead.

The Sydney-born star caused controversy back in 2006 by posing for the Naked Rugby League calendar, which was released to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation but received little support from the rugby authorities.

He will be joined at the Racecourse Ground by 23-year-old Samoan international Winterstein, who spent the 2008 campaign with the Bulldogs before switching to Wakefield earlier this year.

Crusaders spokesman Anthony Seibold said: "They are adapting well to life within the Crusaders 2010 system. It will be exciting for all when they wear the Crusaders strip for the very first time."
