Hull have confirmed that former Great Britain winger Gareth Raynor has left the club by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old, who played 14 matches for Hull this past season after recovering from a foot injury, has a court case hanging over him as he and partner Catriona Thompson are due in court in April on 14 counts of counterfeiting and fraud relating to the trading of ink cartridges on website ebay and the copying of computer games.

As a result Hull chief executive James Rule and head coach Richard Agar confirmed that, following talks with Raynor who still had 12 months remaining on his contract, the former Leeds man has departed the club.

"On behalf of the directors, backroom staff, coaches and supporters of Hull FC, I would like to thank Gareth for his contribution and wish him the best of luck in his future career," said Rule.

Raynor said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my career at Hull FC and leave the club with many memories, in particular the support shown to me by the Hull FC fans, with whom I enjoyed a great rapport."

Despite his off-field issues it is thought that former Great Britain coach Brian Noble, who is still looking for players at Super League outsiders Crusaders, could swoop to hand Raynor a deal.
