There had been doubts about his immediate future, given he is currently sidelined with a broken foot and was due to fall out of contract at the end of this season.
However, the Great Britain international says he has never had any desire to 'play for another club' and is delighted to have agreed the contract extension.
"I think everyone knows I am black and white through and through and getting this new deal is fantastic news for me," he said. "I have never wanted to play for another club and I believe I still have plenty to offer the club."
Meanwhile, coach Richard Agar was happy that after seven players - Ewan Dowes, Craig Hall, Lee Radford, Tommy Lee, Tom Briscoe, Danny Tickle and Willie Manu - recently pledged their futures, King decided to follow suit.
"We gave him a one-year deal last time on the proviso that we wanted to see some improvements in certain areas and he has certainly done that," he said.
"It has been a difficult year for Paul with his injury but he showed enough form early on in the year to suggest he still has plenty of football left in him."
