No-one can match Saints run: Cunningham

R LeagueSt Helens captain Keiron Cunningham thinks no-one will be able to dominate the Challenge Cup in the future like the Saints.

Saints face Hull on Saturday at Wembley aiming for a third consecutive Challenge Cup success, and the first leg of a second League and cup double in three years.

The game will be the Knowsley Road club's eighth Challenge Cup final appearance in the last decade and they are big favourites to join Wigan as the only hat-trick winners.

Cunningham, who has played in every one of the finals dating back to 1996, believes that it will become harder and harder for any team to emulate their recent dominance.

"You put yourself on such a platform and everybody is trying to pull it from underneath you," said Cunningham.

"Every year is tougher and tougher because we set ourselves standards that we always try to better and the competition is getting tougher.

"We'd like to win every trophy and be a part of every big game but I think it will happen less and less in the future.

"We will just take it with open arms at the minute and enjoy every appearance that we do make in major finals."
