Wigan coach Brian Noble is confident his side can reach the Grand Final after their 30-16 Super-League play-off win at Hull KR.

The Warriors looked set to stroll into the semi-finals on Saturday evening when first half tries from George Carmont, Iafeta Paleaaesina and Pat Richards put them 18-0 up.

However, Rovers stormed back through Kris Welham, Peter Fox and Chaz I'Anson in the second period to leave the match hanging in the balance. But Wigan got through thanks to two late tries from Martin Gleeson.

Wigan will now travel to St Helens for the semi-finals as defending champions Leeds used their ClubCall decision to set up a home meeting with Catalan Dragons, who defeated Huddersfield on Friday.

Noble was delighted with his side's performance and is confident his players can now secure a place in the Old Trafford finale next month.

He said: "The Grand Final is certainly within our grasp. We've had two attempts in the last couple of years and the boys are very keen to do well.

"I thought we were really clinical in the first half. We lost our execution in the second half and made it harder than it should have been.

"But you've got to give Hull KR credit. They were always going to have a shot back at us. But we finished the game off strongly, so there are some good signs for us."
