Jamie Peacock has predicted the glum English weather may work in England's favour when the Gillette Four Nations gets underway.
The England captain is convinced the lack of natural daylight could affect the likes of Australia and world champions New Zealand when the clocks go back this weekend.
However, the Leeds favourite knows England will have to improve on their disastrous World Cup humbling by both nations to stand any chance of winning the competition.
He said: "It is different compared to being in Australia where it's often perfect weather for playing football and the crowds aren't as vociferous as they are over here.
"I would imagine it is more difficult touring in this country than in Australia because of the lack of daylight and things to do outside. It can get you down if you let it."
England take on Australia at Wigan on Saturday week and meet the Kiwis in Huddersfield a week later.
