Australia hooker Cameron Smith has described Saturday's Gillette Four Nations showdown against England as "huge".
Smith accepts the Kangaroos must avoid defeat against the old enemy to avoid the lottery of other results going their way in their quest to reach the final at Elland Road on November 14.
A 20-20 opening draw against world champions New Zealand last Saturday has also heightened the pressure on Smith and his team-mates.
Smith believes key to victory will be the battle up front and has predicted an explosive match-up.
"It is a huge game for us," Smith told Sky Sports News. "We need to win this one to give ourselves a chance to be there in the end. If we lose I think we have a really good chance of probably not even being in the final.
"I know all the boys are disappointed in the way we played on the weekend, but we are looking forward to this week and the challenge of playing the Poms."
