Australian side Wests Tigers have swooped to sign Bradford winger Tame Tupou, who was sacked due to his long-term injury problems.

The 26-year-old former New Zealand international and Brisbane Broncos star had been serving a six-month notice period and was continuing to train with the Bulls following his dismissal in January due to a knee problem which had sidelined him for over a year. However, the Tigers have handed Tupou the opportunity to resurrect his career Down Under.

On Tupou, who joined the Bulls in 2007 and managed 10 tries in his opening 12 Super League games, a Bradford statement said: "Bradford Bulls have agreed to the request of Wests Tigers to release Tame Tupou's registration with immediate effect."
