Hull KR centre Chev Walker has undergone surgery on a compound fracture of his left leg which is will sideline him for a lengthy spell.
Walker picked up the injury just 11 minutes into Hull KR's 44-8 defeat at Leeds in the Super League play-off clash at Headingley on Friday night when he collided with Keith Senior. And coach Justin Morgan confirmed the player has already had an operation in the hope the bone can be repaired.
"He's had surgery straight away and we can only be hopeful that they can get it fixed and get it back to normal," said Morgan.
Leeds coach Brian McClennan also spoke out about the injury to Walker, who is a former Rhinos favourite.
"Our thoughts are with him," he said.
"Our best wishes go out to him. It was good to hear the fans show their respect and sing for him."
