The SANZAR judicial hearing looked at the evidence he had come into "contact with the eyes or eye area" of All Blacks flanker Adam Thomson and decided there was a case to answer.
They deemed a three-week suspension was the correct punishment for his actions and the ban will take him up to and including August 3.
That means the hooker will miss next weekend's Tri-Nations clash against Australia in Perth but he will be available to return for the Test with Argentina in Johannesburg on August 9.
