New Zealand team manager Darren Shand revealed that the authorities want to try and nip his poor behaviour in the bud, with the incidents said to be the result of too much alcohol.
"Jimmy has had a second incident in a short space of time and we want to act now," he said.
"We understand no-one was hurt and no property was damaged. But clearly it is a pattern of behaviour that indicates he doesn't make good decisions when he's been drinking."
The Otago Highlanders' star played in both the recent victories over England and was due to play against world champions South Africa in Saturday's opening Tri-Nations match.
His participation in that match has now been thrown into doubt and there is a possibility that he could be dismissed from the Kiwi set-up altogether, although a strong warning would seem a more likely outcome.
