Henson commits to Ospreys

R UnionWales centre Gavin Henson has promised "an exciting time" for Ospreys fans after signing a new three-year contract.

The new deal will see Henson, who is currently sidelined by a long-term ankle injury, stay at the Liberty Stadium until 2011.

The 26-year-old is the 12th player to sign a new deal with the Magners League side and is targeting more honours when he makes his planned comeback in September.

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract, I wouldn't want to play rugby anywhere else," said Henson.

"I'm an ambitious person and I want to win things and the Ospreys share my ambitions. There's a real buzz about the place at the moment, everybody is looking forward to the new season and to building on our achievements last season.

"For me personally, there was a lot to be pleased about over the course of the season even if it ended early because of injury, and I can't wait to get back into action as soon as possible and hopefully help both the Ospreys and Wales onto more success.

"The next few years promise to be an exciting time for the region."
