Wales prop Gethin Jenkins is winning his fitness battle to face Scotland in Cardiff on Saturday, says physiotherapist Mark Davies.

The British and Irish Lions star missed the 30-17 defeat to England in the RBS Six Nations opener at Twickenham because of a calf injury but is making good progress.

Jenkins is expected to be restored to the starting XV if he comes through training this week unscathed.

Davies said: "At this moment in time, it is looking good."

However, Jenkins' front row colleague, Matthew Rees, could miss the remainder of the tournament because of a groin problem.

Davies added: "We need to allow it to settle down. It is about what is the best option for Matthew."
